Colony characteristics
Colonies (YMA, 7 d, 25°C) cream-coloured, rough, folded and wrinkled.
Microscopy
Hyphae and pseudohyphae present; arthroconidia present. Budding cells subspherical, ellipsoidal or ovoidal, 10.0-12.5 × 5.0-7.5 µm, sometimes cylindrical up to 20 µm in length, often adhering in chains.
Pathogenicity
RG-1, BSL-1. Lipid-producing fungus. Noguchi et al. (2020) reported an onychomycosis.
