Dialonectria

Ascomycota, Pezizomycotina, Hypocreales, Nectriaceae. Genus: DIALONECTRIA

Recommended barcoding gene: translation elongation factor 1-apha (TEF1). One of the classical ascomycete genera, containing numerous species that mostly grow with brighly colored perithecia on old fruitbodies of wood-inhabiting fungi. In culture, fusarium-like conidial states are formed in addition to ascomata. The group is phylogenetically diverse and has been subdivided into several genera divided over families Nectriaceae and Bionectriaceae.

Generic type species:  Sphaeria episphaeria Tode (1791) = Dialonectria episphaeria (Tode) Cooke (1884).
