New Atlas features 2023

With the new year just in progress, we announce some changes and events concerning the Atlas. The Atlas Foundation, a non-profit and neither sponsored institution remains at your service to explain the developments in biodiversity to the clinical user. As announced earlier, the service of our website can no longer remain free of charge. Subscription to the Atlas will be 50 € per calender year. Payment can be done until 1 February via this link. This will enable you to use the rich and easily searchable database during 2023. After payment, no further action is needed. Note: if you have the Atlas book version, you have two years free web access from the moment of purchase. The Atlas can be bought here.

On 15th February 2023, 16.30-18.00 central European time, we will organize a webinar on fungal identification and the use of Atlas book and website, entitled: “Fungal diversity in the clinical lab – it’s getting worse!”. This is done in cooperation with the German-language Society of Medical Mycology (DMYKG) in the series “Mykosen am Mittwoch” (“Mycoses on Wednesday”). The program of this event can be found at the bottom of this mailing. The seminar is free of charge, but registration is compulsory Webinar Registration.

The great majority of fungal infections is caused by environmental or zoonotic fungi. To understand routes of infection, prophylaxis, emerging antifungal resistance, origins of sapro- and zoonoses, and other questions of public health, the Atlas Foundation is working to establish a new journal, entitled One Health Mycology. The journal will be open access and accept manuscripts concerning all themes that are of significance for human and animal health. Publication fees will remain modest, and we particularly invite authors from white areas on the map of our knowledge. The journal will have an editorial team of international experts, and will be published in cooperation with major institutions in medical and veterinary mycology. As all activities of the Atlas Foundation, the journal will be a non-profit project.
