Colony characteristics
Colonies (5% MEA, 3 d, 25°C) light tan, dull or glistening, smooth, wrinkled when pseudohyphae are abundant. Margin entire.
Microscopy
Budding cells ovoidal to elongate, 4-10 × 3-6 μm, singly, in pairs or in chains. Pseudohyphae abundant with verticillate clusters of blastoconidia. True occasionally present. Heterothallic. Asci with 1-4 hat-shaped ascospores, easily liberated.
Pathogenicity
RG-1, BSL-1. Kim & Spivack (2024) reported a tenosynovitis. A bovine mastitis was described by Dalanezi et al. (2018).
